In this transformation from a twenties warehouse into an elegant loft, our challenge was to insert a completely new structure in steel and concrete without affecting the original solid brick perimeter walls. A project where the artisanal design of the staircase becomes the protagonist of light and form.

The staircase represents the key architectural element, conceived to maximize the entry of natural light coming from the large industrial glass surfaces. Artisanal through a single cast on-site, this structure guarantees a visual continuity rarely achievable with prefabricated elements. The use of smooth wood reinforcement allowed for obtaining a uniform and clean concrete surface, free of classic woody veins.
A distinctive feature is the geometry of the step, which repeats identical both in the front and back, creating a specular visual harmony. In addition to the aesthetic impact, this solution offers crucial practical advantages in an open environment: the single-ramp structure takes up less space than traditional stairs and minimizes visual obstacles, ensuring the atmosphere remains bright and airy.
A functional work of art that overcomes the physical limits of concrete and connects floors without weighing down the space.
The recovery of the warehouse required a particular sensitivity in treating the original materials. Keeping the solid brick structure from the twenties intact and building inside it meant creating a building within a building. The use of steel and exposed concrete recalls the original productive origin of the place but is declined with an artisanal care for detail that transforms the strength of the material into elegance domestic. Every inch has been optimized to create an environment where design is at the service of livability, paying homage to the industrial legacy of the area.
A historic shell in which every architectural element has been studied to serve the environment.
